Dr. Primitiva Bueno receives the Menga Medal for contributing to the defense, advancement, research and publicizing the prehistoric heritage of Andalusia

The editorial team of Trabajos de Prehistoria wishes to share with its readers our satisfaction at the public recognition given to Dr. Primitiva Bueno, a member of our Advisory Board (1998-2005) and our Editorial Board (since 2006). The Andalusian regional government has conceded the Menga Medal ex aequo to Dr. Bueno and Dr. Rodrigo de Balbín Behrmann (both Professors at the University of Alcalá de Henares for their contribution to the UNESCO Declaration with their “research on the decoration on the standing stones of the Antequera dolmens and its links with open-air paintings and engravings found in the territory of the builders of these monuments”.  The presentation coincided with the sixth anniversary of the inclusion of the Antequera megaliths in UNESCO´s World Heritage list and took placd on 15 July 2022 at the Museo del Sitio de los Dólmenes de Antequera (Málaga).
