Abstract


A synthesis is presented of the current state of knowledge of castros in Western Asturias according to the archaeological evidence -stratigraphy, typological studies, and absolute dates-, supporting the hypothesis that pre-Roman fortified settlements existed in Asturias with long occupation sequence.
