This paper considers the contacts of the Iberian aristocracy with the Mediterranean in the fifth and fourth centuries BC, when the beginnings of Hellenism were foreshadowed. The proposed examples show the relations with the Central and Eastern Mediterranean during a period in which the westernisation of trade in the Iberian Peninsula has been generally accepted. The paper points out the role of Greek and Phoenician intermediaries.
