Análisis estadístico de materiales líticos paleolíticos: «la Cueva de la Cantera» (Alcedo, León)

Abstract

In this paper we study three groups of lithic materials from the site of «Cueva de la Cantera» (Alcedo, León), which have been assigned for many years to three stages of the Upper Palaeolithic: Aurignacian, Magdalenian and Azilian. The statistical analyses of Homogeneity, Correspondence and Distance applied to technological data of the butts and the blanks seems to demonstrate that this triple classification does not hold. As an alternative, we propose the allocation of the materials to a single group corresponding to the Final Upper Palaeolithic.
