This paper deals with the characteristics of thermoluminescent dating, the physical processes underlying it, and its application to the Cogotas I culture site of Fabrica de Ladrillos (Getafe, Spain). The absolute dates are presented, and their archaeological interpretation within the context of Cogotas I is discussed.
