Anthropomorphic Statues, Argaric, South-east SpainAbstract
In the recent excavations in the argaric settlement of Fuente Alamo (Cuevas de Almanzora, Almería) a new type of «anthropomorphic» statue has been recovered, previously unknown in the Iberian Peninsula. A discussion of context and morphometrical and material analysis of these statues leads on to a consideration of their cultural and symbolic meaning.
