The study of the human representations of the Upper Palaeolithic shows that women are depicted more often than men. They display a very wide variety of morphologies, which reflects their functional life and defines their morphological identity. This choice of expression seems to indicate that artist wanted to draw attention to the generative or sexual role of woman, and leads one to think that a physiological language of the female body was in use in Palaeolithic art (traduction anglaise de P.
