The archaeological record in the area between the rivers Tormes and Côa is quite wide and varied.Nevertheless, there has been little research, developed in earlier times and with old techniques.Of around seventy studied sites of the final prehistoric and protohistoric periods, only five sites have radiocarbon data. Some of these are not very reliable due to the wide ranges of deviation or the non-coincidence between materials and data. The aim of this study is to show the evidence recorded and state some methodological questions that have to be taken into account in order to develop future research. Hence, we should first get good stratigrafic sequences to produce radiocarbon data in context, given that research is mainly based at the moment on relative dating by typology.
